Youth worker pens knife crime song

Youth Justice Youth Work
A Devon youth worker has written a song to encourage young people to think about the consequences of knife crime.

Jenny Keegan, who works with young offenders in Plymouth, has written Knives and Broken Lives as part of her new album. The song charts the story of a young man involved with crime who pulls out a knife during a fight and ends up being fatally stabbed.

"The song provokes thought around the impact on his family and usually starts a good conversation among staff and young people," said Keegan. The songs are available from Keegan's Myspace page.
