YOUTH PARLIAMENT: More funding for youth parliament

Funding for the youth parliament, which has been set up as an independent, non-party political organisation aiming to voice the opinions of young people aged 11 to 18, will next year rise to 165,000.

Peter Clarke, general manager of the UKYP, said that the additional funding would be used to set up member places that run alongside the UK regions.

Around 22 members of the UKYP were to meet the prime minister this week to discuss a range of issues including tuition fees and a potential war on Iraq.
