An internal investigation, led by a senior manager from another prison, is also under way.
A spokeswoman for the Prison Service said: "We have recently been made aware of the allegations and passed the information to the police. We have also begun an internal investigation."
The allegations, reported in The Sun newspaper, also include claims that victims of sexual abuse were placed in cells with sex offenders. Feltham is already under investigation following the murder of 19-year-old Zahid Mubarek by his racist cell mate in March 2000.
