Young People: Contributions to policy welcomed

Organisations working with young people have been invited to contribute to a Liberal Democrat blueprint on youth policy.

The review, for 16- to 25-year-olds, will build on the children andfamilies policy backed by the conference last week (Children Now, 20-26September).

It will be led by Jenny Willott, the party's spokeswoman for youngpeople, and Annette Brooke, spokeswoman for children and families.

A Liberal Democrat spokesman said that the party was aiming to go "backto square one" with its youth policy and that the review was in itsearliest stages.

However, it would cover youth finances and personal debt, socialexclusion, youth policy, local government and the voluntary sector, youth crime and attitudes to young people.

He said: "This is an opportunity to find out what young people want aswell as the experts."
