Workers expect cuts to raise stress levels

Most social workers expect stress levels and workloads to increase as a result of local authority spending cuts, according to a survey by The College of Social Work.

Corinne May-Chahal, interim chair of The College of Social Work, said: "These findings reveal some of the challenges facing the college as it sets about its work on behalf of the social work profession. Our job is to speak up for social work and support the profession through what will clearly be stressful times for many."
