- Taking Action on Child Poverty

This Welsh Assembly Government consultation proposes a range of approaches to reduce child poverty in the country, including placing a duty on public agencies to provide free childcare.

- A Vision for Science and Society

This consultation from the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills invites input to a strategy for science and society. This includes engaging schools, universities, the media and wider society to raise awareness in science and technology, and developing scientific literacy in young people.

Closing date: 17 October

- Murder, Manslaughter and Infanticide: Proposals for Reform of the Law

The government has been conducting a review into the law on homicide. This Ministry of Justice consultation sets out proposals for reforms on partial defences to murder of diminished responsibility and provocation, the law on complicity in relation to homicide, and infanticide.

Closing date: 20 October

Transforming Places; Changing Lives: a Framework for Regeneration

This consultation from the Department for Communities and Local Government sets out proposals that aim to shape the way regeneration is carried out in England. It focuses on deprived areas, improving both economic performance and rates of work and enterprise, and creating sustainable places where people want to live.

Closing date: 31 October

- Video Games Consultation

As part of the government's implementation of the Byron Review recommendations on children and new media, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport is asking for views from children, parents, the games industry, retailers and other interested parties on the classification system for video games. The results of the consultation will be used to develop a system to protect children from inappropriate content.
