Childcare Act 2006: Future Approach to Fees and Subsidies

Childcare providers are facing rises in Ofsted fees as the government plans a new banded fees system. Views are sought on the proposed structure and level of fees payable to Ofsted by childcare providers joining the Early Years Register or the compulsory part of the Ofsted Childcare Register from September 2008. It also covers proposals for changes to the current subsidy arrangements.

Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 - Relevant Third Party

The aim of the Act is to provide protection to those at risk of forced marriage and support for those who have already been forced into it. As part of the process of bringing the Act into force, the Ministry of Justice is exploring how it should work in practice. One important aspect is how to enable orders to be made when victims feel unable to make applications themselves. The consultation is aimed at all organisations and people providing support to those affected in England and Wales.

The Looked-After Children (Scotland) Regulations: Consultation on Draft Regulations

This Scottish Government consultation invites views on a draft set of regulations, which revise and update those on fostering and looked-after children. They will apply to all looked-after children and carers, whether cared for at home, by foster carers or in a residential care setting. A number of recent policy developments have necessitated the update.

Good Practice Guide on Paternity Testing Services

This guide is a revised version of the Department of Health's Code of Practice and Guidance on Genetic Paternity Testing Services, published March 2001. The guide is aimed at organisations that provide and advertise genetic paternity testing services to the public and will also be of interest to those commissioning such services and general medical practitioners.
