Work Wise: Funding briefs

Scottish youth groups are to benefit from 2m dedicated to funding action-packed activities in the Year of Action for Young People. www.scotland.gov.uk.

The London Development Agency and the Department for Children, Schools and Family are funding a £60m London Youth Offer. The cash is intended to lower child poverty and increase the number of services on offer to young people.

A campaign to recruit 10,000 voluntary sports coaches to work with young people in 70 deprived areas of the country is to benefit from £5m from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

The Dare to Care campaign is offering 500 £80 grants to community groups to fund activities that contribute to combating child poverty over the next five months. www.daretocare.org.uk.
