The Independent Schools Council has appointed David Lyscom as chief executive. The not-for-profit body exists to widen educational opportunities for all children and represents around 1,300 independent schools in the UK and Ireland. Lyscom started the role in early September, and has stepped down from his previous position as UK ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
