Training: New qualification for homeless teens

Youth homelessness charity Centrepoint has forged an alliance with a qualifications provider to help the young people it works with gain formal qualifications.

The charity is teaming up with AQA to deliver the Unit Award Scheme, which allows young people to receive recognition for taking part in a series of independent living workshops. Modules include living on a budget, responsibilities of tenancy and healthy living.

Clare Norton, director of services at Centrepoint, said: "Under the scheme we can help young people gain skills to help open doors into employment."
