This year we are also being asked to show our support for World Aids Day by wearing the Virtual Red Ribbon online. The aim is for 7,000 web sites to display the Virtual Red Ribbon by 1 December. Each virtual ribbon worn will represent the 7,000 people in the UK, who it is estimated will become HIV positive in 2004.

World Aids Day in the UK is co-ordinated by the National Aids Trust. It works here and internationally for policies that will prevent HIV transmission, improve access to treatment, challenge HIV stigma and discrimination and secure the political leadership to effectively fight Aids.
