On 14 February, attendees heard from several groups of young people who have successfully applied for grants and have put such funding to positive use within their communities. The young people at last month's celebration event spoke about their experiences and achievements with YouthBank - helping to develop the organisation from its pilot phase to a UK-wide network of 34 licensed YouthBanks. There are at least another 40 in development.
Reflecting its ethos, young people have been involved in running the initiative from the very start and have gradually taken more control.
The event marked the final stage of YouthBank's journey towards being completely young people-led. YouthBank UK is now set to operate as an independent charity with a trustee board made up entirely of young people.
