The Russell Commission has stressed its commitment to building on and extending existing good practice, and this issue of Youth Action profiles five successful projects and initiatives from across the country. They differ in focus and scope - from taking action on global inequality to project work with primary school pupils - but share a commitment to responding to young people's individual needs and circumstances. All the profiled projects work in partnership with other organisations to create appropriate opportunities and, above all, to give young people support to put their ideas into action to meet real needs and bring about change.
