THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: COMMENT - Standing up for what's right

The materials use words like truth, dedication, goodness, justice, vision, integrity, belief, courage, trust. A pretty good bag of virtues, I think you'll agree. They ask questions such as "Would you have the courage to stand up for what's right?"

It's all good stuff, and more of it please, I say (and why not make a nomination yourself - details below). But I'm left with a difficulty - how does all of this square with a world in which, when young people are brave enough to stand up for their beliefs or show integrity and courage, they find the full opposition of the adult world lined up against them?
