Among the key findings are that local authorities spent a total of 306.3m on youth services, with an average spend of 75 per head of its 13 to 19 youth population.
On top of this Education Formula Spending an additional 108.1m was spent, accounting for 26 per cent of total spending. Some 26.9m was given in grant aid and contract arrangements to the voluntary sector, amounting to six per cent of spending in the average authority.The average authority contacted 26 per cent of its 13 to 19 youth population, and an average of 16 per cent were considered participants, according to the definitions given in Credit Where It's Due.
