Growing up submerged in technology is the norm for today's "screenagers", but extended exposure to these hi-tech gadgets comes at a price.
And we're not just talking about money — it can be psychologically damaging. It's no surprise then that the UK's first technology rehab clinic for young people has opened its doors to children as young as 12 who are addicted to technology.
Ask young people how long they spend each day on the computer and how often they use mobile phones. How does this shape their day? Do they avoid other activities to spend more time online? Ask each young person to name one technology-free activity that they enjoy. What do they like about it? When was the last time they did this activity?
