Youth information charity Young Scot along with the Scottish Government have launched the National Youth Commission on Alcohol, which will see 15 volunteers undertake a year-long research project that will inform plans for future cultural change.
Shona Robison, minister for public health, said: "We recognise alcohol misuse is a societal issue in Scotland and by no means restricted to young people, but drinking habits are formed early, so it's vital we hear what young people think should be done if we are to bring about a cultural shift."
A recent study by the University of Glasgow found that nearly 1,500 Scottish people are dying every year due to alcohol-related causes.
