SCHOOL EXCLUSION: Excluded protester gets partial reprieve

Elena Grice, from Helena Romanes School in Braintree, Essex, was originally excluded from school from 20 March, but has been allowed to continue her GCSE studies at school following attempts to overturn the ban by human rights group Liberty (YPN 7-13 May).

Despite her reinstatement, Mr Justice Collins said Grice had been given a justifiable 30-day ban because of previous clashes with teachers. The judge did not lift the ban but called for it to be modified.
