The revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) places renewed emphasis on safeguarding and the need for staff to have a clear understanding of their responsibilities. This book is written to inform all those working with young children on the best ways to reduce risk in child protection and provide a safe environment for young children.
Throughout the book there are case histories, including case scenarios and points for reflection. There are a number of examples of how to identify abuse, work with colleagues internally and externally, and understand policies and procedures using the Common Assessment Framework.
Despite the promise that the book covers the latest EYFS 2012 requirements, there is, surprisingly, no mention of the legal requirement to include a policy on the use of mobile phones and cameras.
