The Make Poverty History campaigners had clear aims that Live 8 was supporting.

Talk to young people about the calls for debt cancellation, more aid and fairer trade. Which do they think is most important? Which do they think the Live 8 concerts will have helped the most?

At the moment, some of the greatest suffering in Africa is in Darfur, Sudan. One Kenyan writer said: "I don't see how one million partygoers will contribute to the filling of stomachs in Darfur, or a reduction of the gunfire." What reply might Live 8 supporters make to this?

The only African musician performing in Hyde Park, London, was Youssou N'Dour. Sir Bob Geldof supports fair trade. Should more have been done to bring down trade barriers in the global music business? How might this happen?
