In relation to inter-agency governance, the Government recognises that"robust arrangements for inter-agency co-operation are needed to set theframework of accountability for improving and delivering effectiveservices.
The cornerstone must be a strong integrated governing board or structurerepresenting all key delivery partners at senior level." But how can weensure that the new arrangements are effective and fit for purpose? Willthis book help?
The book states that it will address how to get beyond local politicalschisms and historical conflicts to provide the best services forchildren; whether strategic partnerships are always the answer; what thecosts associated with these partnerships are; and how they can beminimised.
I would question whether the book is successful in these areas but Iagree that it does inform policy-makers and others of "the best currentevidence of effective approaches to service planning and provision bystrategic partnerships". It also provides "practical guidance on how toplan, fund and deliver services in partnership for children and youngpeople".
