Resources: Review - An overdue look at anxiety disorders

1 min read
Anxiety disorders in children are common and if not treated have the potential to severely impact on the lives of sufferers and their families.

Despite this, the study and understanding of these problems has lagged behind that of other disorders. As a consequence, many children and adolescents suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, obsessions, compulsions, phobias, or post traumatic stress disorders that remain unrecognised and untreated.

The editors, who are themselves two of the most experienced researchers and clinicians in the field, have assembled a very strong list of authors from across America, who between them have produced a very comprehensive review of the literature. The resulting book is an extremely useful reference book, which will hold great appeal to clinicians, practitioners and researchers.

It is highly suitable to either dip into, or to read more systematically.
