Thebook tells the story of how Nutmeg gets into a fight with his newclassmate Dill, a fostered squirrel, and feels he is acting like hisviolent father. The book tries to help children explore their ownfeelings about adoption and fostering. It also comes with practiceguidelines to help adoptive parents and social workers use the bookeffectively.

This report, by the left-wing thinktank Demos, sets out to identify newways in which government can help mums and dads balance their work andhome lives and improve their parenting. It begins with an analysis offamily life before putting forward practical ideas about how the statecan do more to help families, such as setting up local peer networks forparents. The booklet also examines how involved government should becomein family life.
