Report: Bullying: Evidence from the Longitudinal Study of Young People in England 2, Wave 2
Summary
The researchers compared the young people's answers to their responses from the previous year when they were in year 9, and with those of an earlier cohort of young people who were in year 10 in 2005.
The researchers found that a significantly smaller proportion of year 10 students in 2014 said they had been bullied in the last 12 months when compared with the equivalent age group in 2005. Forty-one per cent of young people in year 10 in 2005 said they had been bullied in the last 12 months compared with 36 per cent in 2014. Fewer students reported being bullied in year 10 - 36 per cent - compared with year 9 when 43 per cent said they had experienced one or more types of bullying.
