After Samir* broke up with her boyfriend, her name appeared on a "sket list" posted on Facebook.
"Sket" is street slang for slut. Alongside photos of the 14-year-old was posted a menu of sexual acts, information that was also circulated via Instagram.
By appearing on the list, Samir, whose ex was a gang member, knew she would be considered fair game and a target for sexual violence. She had no idea how to get her name removed or tackle rumours flying around school.
But specialist support charity the Safer London Foundation helped her take action. Her case worker collaborated with the local authority to apply to Facebook for the removal of the "sket list" on the grounds that it was inciting child abuse.
