Police launch stop and search DVD

1 min read Youth Justice
The Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) has launched a DVD about stop and search to find out what young people think about the policing technique.

The DVD will be used as part of a training package for the police on how to use the approach appropriately and to inform the public, especially young people, of their rights when they are stopped or searched.

Go Wisely - Everything You Need to Know About Stop and Search was filmed in London and Manchester.

During filming, the camera crew was involved in a real crime incident and filmed the police as they searched for culprits.

The DVD features officers talking about how stop and search can help them detect crime, and young people talking about their perceptions of the method, their experiences of being stopped and how they want to be treated by the police if stopped.
