The Family Mediation Helpline will put families that are breaking up intouch with local services to help them resolve disputes over children,finances and housing. The Department for Constitutional Affairs hascommitted enough money to keep the helpline going for a year.
The helpline's launch coincided with the publication of a guide tofamily mediation by Advicenow, the information web site run by theAdvice Services Alliance. The guide is aimed at couples who are breakingup and explains what family mediation is. It will be distributed viaCitizens Advice and similar advice groups.
