High fat, high sugar convenience food is cheap and by far the most heavily marketed. Our society conspires to reduce activity and increase consumption. Families need information and time to do sport together and cook together. The support of community health practitioners like health visitors and school nurses can make all the difference. Government has to get to grips with business, advertising and media to ensure they act well for children.
