I mentioned at the start a walk around the centre of Prague with a Chinese student who had never seen graffiti art before. The mural she marvelled at was a wall painting of John Lennon, and she didn't know who he was either. I mentioned the fact that in some parts of Europe skateboarding, rather than being banned or restricted, was actively encouraged through creative architectural design. I recalled the Isle of Man Tourist Board inviting a young man to perform his doughnuts - making a circle with the burning rear tyre of a motorbike - on Douglas promenade during the annual TT motorcycle race season. Yet the previous year he had been arrested for breaching safety regulations for doing exactly the same thing. This time, a safety barrier was erected, and his performance was promoted.
