There will always be a view that you are selling out if you mix charity with business. Any PLC's goal is to maximise the wealth of its shareholders. Compare that with an animal charity whose mission is to protect the interests of its little furry stakeholders and there is the problem. We want different things. But, we can have more in common with our corporate cousins than you would think. Forming a partnership with big business should be viewed in exactly the same way as any other alliance. It is about finding shared values, common goals and above all mutual benefits. It is about helping them to help us to achieve our mission; to serve others.
