The projects, which will take place in the Inland Revenue's seven regions, follow a pilot scheme where it joined with Community Links, a group in Newham, east London.
There, a multi-ethnic, multilingual team of volunteers were trained to give advice and support to individuals in the borough. Outreach clinics and a freephone helpline were also used, and 511 people were supported by the project, netting around 2.6m extra in tax credits for local residents.
