News in brief: Scottish Executive allocates funding

The Scottish Executive has allocated 30,000 to look at ways of improving the collection of data on problem drug use in pregnant women. In its response to the Hidden Harm report on the misuse of drugs, the Executive revealed that the drug use field was completed in only 440 maternity records out of 96,000 since April 2003. www.scotland.gov.uk/library5/health/hhser.pdf.
