Police and social services in Fife have admitted to mistakes in the case of a teenage girl murdered by a boy who faced sex offence allegations, but said the "tragic events" could "not have been reasonably predicted or avoided". Karen Dewar was killed in Tayport by Colyn Evans, who was placed in temporary accommodation in the town after being detained at a residential school.
