A leading paediatrician warned last week that children were at risk of abuse because of fears about disciplinary action stemming from the Sir Roy Meadow case. In a letter to medical journal The Lancet, Sir David Hall, the former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, said doctors had become afraid to highlight suspected child abuse cases.
