A new organisation is urging parents and carers to tell it what would make the most difference to their lives as it puts pressure on politicians. The Parents' and Carers' Coalition, which is co-ordinated by the Equal Opportunities Commission, said unpaid carers faced "particular stresses". Its research found that nearly a fifth of carers have had to give up or turn down a job because of childcare or other caring responsibilities. Register views at www.eoc.org.uk/parentsandcarers.
