A mother whose case was reviewed in light of the Angela Cannings judgment has won the right to appeal against her conviction for murdering her baby. Margaret Smith, 38, was found guilty in 2002, partly on the basis of evidence from discredited expert Professor Roy Meadow, of murdering her four-month-old son Keith in September 1994. The Court of Appeal said the conviction was unsafe but that the reasons for the decision could not be reported.
