Lord Laming says he is not yet convinced that changes to the delivery of children's services have occurred at a local level, despite recommendations made in his report into Victoria Climbie's death. The final report into cases where parents were convicted of killing their babies despite disagreement between medical experts could be released later this week by the Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith. In July he identified 24 cases out of the first 196 tackled by the review, which was announced by the Government after Angela Cannings had her convictions for murdering two of her sons overturned.
