News In Brief: Home Office says no increase on charges

The Home Office says it will not put up charges for Criminal Record Bureau checks after the Commons public accounts committee found that costs had overrun by 150m. Capita was appointed to operate the scheme on the strength of a 250m bid, but the bureau will cost 400m over 10 years. The Home Office said prices were not due for review until December.
