The Department for Education and Skills will investigate Wandsworth Council's decision to pass on only 94 per cent of its education grant (News, 17-23 March), after the council said in December it would give schools the full amount. A DfES spokesman said: "The Secretary of State will want to look at how the Council's backtracking over passporting this year should be taken into account for 2005/06."
