Children's neurosurgery in Wales is to be centralised at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, leaving only an emergency service in Swansea. The move occurred in the face of opposition from community health councils in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot to the withdrawing of paediatric neurosurgery services from Cardiff and Morriston Hospital, Swansea.
