NEWS IN BRIEF: Arts beat

Video project bridges gap from old to nu Goths, skaters and hip-hop fans are the stars of a new video exhibition at the Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art this month. The teenagers, whose favourite hangout was outside the gallery rather than in, were approached by visual arts company nuArts with the idea to photograph them and record their views and opinions. NuArts film-maker Graham MacIver said: "The project, which comprised a gallery of photographs and a 20-minute DVD film, was a big success with the kids, and we now run art workshops to teach them different skills such as design, DJ-ing, jewellery-making, and even tattoo art." The exhibition will continue to run until 16 February.
