From our library

Are we nearly there yet? by Eleni Burgess, available from chris.burgess7@btinternet.com or 0161 449 9635.

This booklet details the findings of a project funded by a Whizz-Kidz No Limits millennium award, looking at the experience of nearly 80 teenage wheelchair users attending mainstream secondary schools in the UK. The author, herself a 16 year-old wheelchair user, asked her peers whether they felt integration has been achieved, and found that there is clearly a long way still to go. The book includes a checklist for action, highlighting issues such as accessibility, travelling to school, sport and PE.

Counselling children: a practical introduction by Kathryn Geldard and David Geldard, SAGE publications.
