NCB Now: News from Wales - Child Safety in Wales

A series of regional workshops were held this spring to consult among professionals about how the prevention of accidental injury in children is being promoted in Wales.

Children in Wales is now working closely with Child Safe Wales, the Collaboration for Accident Prevention and Injury Control, the Child Accident Prevention Trust and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents to explore how we can develop a national Child Safety Action Plan to address some of these issues.

A steering group has been established, and the first part of the action plan, findings and recommendations will be issued in autumn 2007.

The second part will be prepared by spring 2008, following consultations with all stakeholders.
