NCB Now: NCB hands over power for Takeover Day

1 min read
Hundreds of businesses and organisations handed over their jobs to children and young people for 11 Million's Takeover Day on 23 November, giving them a chance to see what working life is like.

NCB's takeover day began at 10am at the NCB headquarters in London where the group of "executives" were briefed on the day ahead and after a few icebreakers, they were ready to start their jobs for the day. The job I had was the e-publishing and media assistant which entailed taking photographs, updating the website, and writing this story for NCB Now.

Thirteen-year-old Hamza Modi, the chief executive for the day, couldn't believe that someone of his age could become chief executive for a day, saying: "It was amazing and I was shocked to have been offered the job."

Some staff were hoping to be sent home, as there was now someone to do their job for them. However the chief executive had other ideas and wanted NCB staff to see what they could learn from the young people.
