15 July - The Children Bill: What it will mean for children's services. This event is being held by the Children's Interagency Group of leading public sector and voluntary organisations - including NCB - to look at how the Children Bill will affect the development and delivery of services for children and young people - Business Design Centre, London

6 October - Supporting Children and Young People living with HIV. This half-day workshop, organised by the Children and Young People HIV Network, provides an in-depth look at working with children and young people in families living with HIV. This workshop will be of particular benefit to social workers involved with families where HIV is an issue - Britannia Hotel, Birmingham

13 October - Residential Child Care 2004: progress through good practice. This conference will mark the development of the Children's Residential Network at local, regional and national levels - Aston Villa Conference Centre, Birmingham
