1 min read
February is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month - an opportunity to challenge the stereotypes of this group in society and celebrate their achievements.

The validity of such awareness events is sometimes questioned. It istrue that many of us do not want to be defined simply in terms of ourskin colour or sexual orientation. We all tick more than one box. This month aimsto change that.

It reminds us of the discrimination and ignorance that many young peoplecan experience on a daily basis. Nearly three quarters of young lesbiansand gay men have played truant or faked illness to avoid homophobicbullying at school and four out of 10 have attempted suicide.
