NCB Now: Children's rights and HIV explored

Children's rights and legislation in relation to HIV will be the theme of a free seminar on 2 June, organised by the Children and Young People HIV Network based at NCB.

The seminar, which takes place in County Hall, London, is aimed at practitioners, campaigners, commissioners and those with an interest in children's rights and HIV. Young people and parents or carers are also being encouraged to attend.

The one-day session will give participants an overview of children's rights and the law in relation to issues faced by children and young people living with HIV, looking specifically at the impact of current legislation.

Workshops will be used to explore specific challenges and some possible solutions.

Speakers at the conference will include representatives from the Children's Rights Alliance, the Children's Legal Centre and the Refugee Council. There will also be a presentation from a member of Teen Spirit, a support group for teenagers living with HIV.
