The National Youth Agency's Youth Work for Health team is running a series of nine regional events for policymakers and managers from local authorities, PCTs and voluntary and community sector organisations to examine the key role that youth work has in addressing the health issues of young people. Team leader Richard McKie said: "Whether it is teenage pregnancy, substance and alcohol misuse, obesity, unhealthy diet, risky behaviours, self harm or any of the other headline grabbing issues, there is no doubt that supporting young people with their health needs has never been so important." The events run throughout May, June and July and cost 90 for statutory and commercial sectors and 70 for voluntary sector organisations.
