In its response to the consultation on the green paper, Every Child Matters, the mental heath charity wrote: "We are concerned about responsibility for the comprehensive Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service being divided between the Department of Health, the Department for Education and Skills, and the Youth Justice Board. We would like to see formal mechanisms in place to ensure good co-ordination."
YoungMinds also argued that planned workforce reforms should include training about mental health issues for all children's professionals.
The Government was also urged last week to avoid being too dictatorial about how local government developed children's services.
The call came in a green paper submission from a 13-strong coalition of young people's groups, including Barnardo's, The Children's Society, NCB, NCH and the NSPCC.
