There is no emergency support for teenagers with severe depression or"psychotic crisis" in 25 per cent of England, half of primary caretrusts cannot provide learning difficulties specialists for children,and many 16- and 17-year-olds end up in adult wards, it said.
The letter, obtained by The Observer, was written by Richard Gleave, thedepartment's senior performance management official, and sent to headsof the strategic health authorities.
